On 12 September last, CEO Joseph Helfrich of Les Grands Chais de France Group signed a preliminary agreement to buy up the Béjot Group whose headquarters are located in Meursault. To go through, the purchase needs the approval of the Commercial Court in Dijon. The purchase should become official in October.
After buying Maison Tresch in 2015 and Maison Paul Sapin in 2016, the Group has reinforced its stronghold in Burgundy.
Béjot Vins et Terroirs ranks as the 4th wine merchant in the Burgundy region with a turnover of around €M 50 (more than 50% in exports).
The Group operates in “Grande Bourgogne” from Chablis to Beaujolais, and also in the South of France (Rhône Valley, Languedoc-Roussillon, Provence) with a total of 515 ha of vines in France.
With its state-of-the-art facilities, it can produce up to 20 million bottles (10 million sold in 2015). And it can cope with all formats (large and small bottles, BIB).
